Who should skip it
You might want to look elsewhere if you need a high-wattage heater for a large, drafty garage. This unit is designed for smaller, insulated rooms like bedrooms or home offices. If you prefer physical knobs over touch-sensitive controls, this model may feel less intuitive. The 12-hour timer is a limit; if you need longer continuous operation without manual restarts, check other models. The compact 9.6-pound weight means it lacks the massive airflow of larger industrial units. It is not designed for outdoor use or large open spaces.
Verdict: The Vornado VMHi500 is a safe, compact heater with smart auto-climate features for small rooms. Its remote and timer add convenience for everyday indoor use.
